Dubbed the World's EMO Father, Promoter Reveals Reasons for Choosing SAOSIN to Replace Alesana at Hammersonic 2024

Kapanlagi.com - American post-hardcore band, Alesana, announced their cancellation to perform at Hammersonic Festival 2024. The English band was replaced by SAOSIN to perform at the Southeast Asian metal music festival.

Ravel Entertainment, as the promoter of Hammersonic Festival 2024, revealed their reasons for choosing SAOSIN as a replacement for Alesana who canceled their appearance at the event.

"Because if Alesana cancels, we still have to find a replacement. Because there was spare time available," said Dede Rianta, representative of Ravel Entertainment, on Thursday (2/5/2024).

"Because two of their personnel came to Hammersonic, one played in As I Lay Dying, and the other one also came, so we thought why not SAOSIN," he added.

Dede Rianta also added that SAOSIN quickly agreed to perform at the Hammersonic Festival 2024.

"We tried to contact them and it turns out they were willing, so we replaced Alesana," he said.

2. Father of Emo Worldwide

In addition, the promoter also stated that Saosin is recognized as one of the music groups that plays an important role in the emo genre.

"Yes, SAOSIN is the father of emo worldwide, SAOSIN," he concluded.

The Hammersonic Festival 2024 will be held at Ancol Carnaval Beach, North Jakarta, on May 4 and 5, 2024. A number of heavy bands will perform at the event.
