Hanin Dhiya Collaborates with American Singer, Pink Sweat$ in "17"

This is not the first time for the Rising Star Indonesia alumna and multi-platinum artist to collaborate with international artists. Previously, Hanin has dueted with Danish singer, Christopher. Then, she has also collaborated with South Korean artist, Nive, and Malaysian singer, Aizat Amdan in the single Ku Mau.

The song "17" is produced by Pink Sweat$ and John Hill, a Grammy-nominated artist. Previously, he has also made various collaborations with top names such as P!nk, Shakira, Khalid, and Eminem.

In order to expand Pink Sweat$'s audience in Asia, Joshua Sarubin, who is the A&R team from Warner Music Group in the United States, initiated this collaboration project. Hanin Dhiya was chosen as one of the representatives of Asia. In South Korea, Pink Sweat$ is reportedly collaborating with two Korean musicians, Eill and DK from Seventeen.

The recording process was done remotely. Pink Sweat$ sent stems data and creative discussions conducted online to determine which parts would be filled by Hanin. Recorded during quarantine, '17' was recorded by Hanin herself at her own home before sending the data to the United States.

Mixing engineer who worked on this project is Manny Marroquin, a Grammy-winning engineer who has won 8 Grammys. He is also known as one of the best mixing engineers in the US who has worked on mixing for a number of top singers. Among them are Toni Braxton, Seal, 2Pac, Alicia Keys, Santana, John Legend, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, Usher, Linkin Park, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, SIA, Charlie Puth, Pharrel Williams, Camila Cabello, and many other names.
