Iwan Fals Re-releases Raya Album After a Decade, Here’s Why

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Virgiawan Listanto, better known as Iwan Fals, has re-released the Raya album. This release also marks ten years since its first launch.

Iwan Fals explained that the Raya album at that time could not be distributed widely due to limited production capital.

"10 years ago in 2013 because it was self-funded, the capital was limited, I could only record, for promotional costs and everything else, it couldn't be done. So it just happened that way," said Iwan at a press conference in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, Monday (29/7/2024).

When there was a plan to re-release the album Raya through KFC and Jagonya Musik & Sport Indonesia (JMSI), Iwan Fals immediately agreed to the idea. With the release in more than 700 KFC outlets, Iwan Fals hopes his album can reach listeners who were previously unfamiliar with it.

"Yes, thank you, so this song can be heard by everyone. If before, not many people listened to it," said Iwan Fals.

2. There is a Unique Meaning

For your information, the album was first released in 2013 and is a tribute from Iwan Fals to his youngest child, Raya Rambu Rabbani. The album contains 18 songs, including one titled Raya.

The song was created by Iwan Fals when Raya was only 10 years old. In the song, the 62-year-old singer includes a prayer for his youngest child. Currently, Raya has joined Iwan Fals' homeband and plays the drums.
