Melly Goeslaw Becomes One of the Judges in the Virtual Talent Search 'Seriosa'

Kapanlagi.com - It is undeniable that several singing talent searches have become one of the sources of talented singers in Indonesia. Just mention names like Delon, Judika, and Tiara Andini who became great singers born from singing talent searches.

Now, along with technological advancements, singers born from several virtual contests have emerged. This has become a concern for the Roomput community formed in the Clubhouse application.

1. Consists of Four Rounds

Starting from the fun of organizing a karaoke competition among its members, they created a singing contest called Seriosa (Indonesian Sound Taste Roomput).

"It started from friends in ROOMPUT when we made a karaoke game together with moderators and listeners. From there, ROOMPUT friends thought it would be exciting to create a singing competition with prizes for listeners who like to visit and chat in our room," said Fra, one of the representatives of Roomput, when contacted by phone some time ago.

The competition itself consists of four rounds, which have already taken place: Pre-eliminary (April 12-23, 2021), Round 1 (April 25, 2021), Round 2 (May 2, 2021), and Final Round (May 9, 2021). In the pre-eliminary round, 25 participants were selected by voters through Roomput's Instagram. And there are 5 participants who received Seriosa Star Pass, these 5 participants were the jury's choices who didn't win but got the opportunity to participate in ROUND 1. Roomput also invited supporters to judge the contestants.

"We prioritize the participants' freedom to showcase their talents and give them the freedom to create on their own. What kind of creativity? Some participants usually perform songs with their own musical instruments or arrangements," explained Fra.

2. Lineup of Quality Judges

Interestingly, Roomput has partnered with quality judges. In Round 1 and 2, the judges are from Roomput community friends, but for the final round, the judges are Melly Goeslaw, Shanty, Dewi Gita, Indy barends, and Jovie Adiguna.

"Some of the Roomput moderators have a background in the entertainment industry, some know these judges personally or have worked directly with them," said Fra.

The participants will compete for millions of rupiah in prizes. 1st Place: Rp.2,000,000, 2nd Place: Rp.1,500,000, 3rd Place: Rp.1,000,000, Favorite Champion: Rp.750,000 (chosen in the final) and special prizes for the top 10 best and most extraordinary supporters with a total prize value of Rp.1,500,000.

"Our hope is to inspire our friends, that there are many things we can develop from our creativity and talents. Even from just a mobile phone application, we can use it as a medium to channel our friends' talents and do something more meaningful," Fra hopes on behalf of the Roompoet community.
