Ready to Send Third Legal Notice, Erwin Agam Awaits Apology Request from Tri Suaka and Zidan

Kapanlagi.com - Songwriter Erwin Agam, through his legal representative, has sent the first and second legal notices to Tri Suaka and Zinidin Zidan regarding their unauthorized cover of his song.

"After the first notice was ignored, we sent the second notice. For this second notice, there has been a response with them appointing a legal representative and their legal representative has contacted us," said Arianto Piliang, Erwin Agam's legal representative in Jakarta, on Thursday (26/5/2022).

Although they have been in communication, what Erwin Agam hopes for has not yet been fulfilled by Tri Suaka and Zidan.

1. Hoping Tri Suaka and Zidan Meet Directly

Erwin Agam hopes that Tri Suaka and Zidan, along with their management team, will come to meet him directly, instead of just sending their lawyers to communicate.

In addition to an apology, they want to discuss this case to create clarity between the song creator and the song coverer.

"We hope they come to visit us for a friendly meeting, because we are the ones who have been harmed. Tri Suaka and Zidan, including their management, and Jogja Project should come," said Arianto.

2. Given 7 Days

Arianto also gave Tri Suaka and Zidan seven days to show good faith, if not, Erwin Agam will not hesitate to send a third summons and take legal action.

"From the beginning, we said that as fellow artists, we should try our best to discuss this and resolve it amicably. Perhaps by working together. Fortunately, I have a label," said Erwin Agam.

3. Because of Covering Songs Without Permission

The issue between Tri Suaka and Zidan with Erwin Agam began when they covered Erwin's songs, Emas Hantaran and Luka Sekerat Rasa, without permission.

According to Arianto, covering songs without permission, which was done by Tri Suaka and Zidan multiple times, could lead to piracy.

"Covering a song more than once, especially if there is an economic value involved, falls under piracy according to the Copyright Law. The punishment for piracy is 10 years in prison and the fines vary. Some are up to Rp1 billion, depending on the categories," he said.

4. Previously Insulted Andika Kangen Band

Tri Suaka invited Zinidin Zidan to cover songs from Kangen Band titled Selingkuh and Penantian yang Tertunda. However, they were seen insulting the senior singer, proven by their unserious behavior and facial expressions.

Many people criticized Tri Suaka and Zinidin Zidan. Tri Suaka himself has apologized, especially to Andika Kangen Band.

5. Viral Tri Suaka's Rider

There was also a spread of Tri Suaka's rider list that made netizens shake their heads.

For only performing for 1 hour, Tri Suaka charged Rp 50 million. In addition, there were various other requests such as airport protocol, pickup to the hotel, two Inova cars for transportation, meals at the airport and at the event location. As for the hotel, Tri Suaka requested a smoking area room, twin beds with suite and deluxe size.

In the room where he stayed, various requests from Tri Suaka must also be available. Such as 5 bottles of mineral water, a slop of cigarettes, 5 vitamin C drinks, 5 white milk, longan, apples, two chocolates, various snacks, facial tissues, wet wipes, reflexology massage and an acoustic guitar.
