Satisfied with His 17-Year Music Career Achievements in His Homeland, Afgan Releases His Second English Album

Kapanlagi.com - Afgan apparently has a special reason for releasing the album Sonder with songs in English. According to him, his music career in Indonesia has reached a comfort zone.

Therefore, the 35-year-old man wants his work to be recognized by the international community. This step by Afgan is definitely a significant challenge.

"I want to grow, as a musician, because in Indonesia it’s already a comfort zone. I’m very comfortable. It’s like when performing, I just have to close my eyes. When I perform, the song list is already predictable," said Afgan when met in the Melawai area, South Jakarta, (23/7) Tuesday afternoon.

"I want to try to perform and introduce my music to listeners who are actually not familiar with me yet. That's the challenge I want to try. Hopefully, we can achieve our targets and goals," he continued.

When asked further, Afgan explained that this feeling arose in him because he feels satisfied with his achievements over 17 years in the Indonesian music industry. Therefore, he began to think about the next steps for his music career in the future.

2. The Right Time

"I feel this is the right time for my career. This year marks 17 years, so I have to think, 'What’s the next step?'" he said.

"In my opinion, this is the right step for me to start expanding the market," he added.

Afgan is known to have released an English mini album titled Sonder through EMPIRE in June 2023. In this album, the single “Escape” is the focus track, where Afgan collaborates with South Korean rapper, Jessi.
