The Changcuters' Journey in Their Last Trilogy Album, 'LOYALIS'

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing the album VISUALIS in 2013 and the album BINAURALIS in 2016, The Changcuters finally concluded their trilogy album titled LOYALIS which was released on September 25, 2020.

Tria Changcuters (vocals), Qibil (guitar), Alda (guitar), Dipa (bass), and Erick (drums) stated that the release of this album was also delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The material was completed at the end of 2019 and went through the mastering stage. In 2020, we had planned to release the album LOYALIS in various forms and promotions. But due to the pandemic, it was decided to release the album LOYALIS on September 25," said Tria during a virtual press conference on Friday (9/25).

1. Reasons for Creating a Trilogy Album

Tria also explained his reasons for creating a trilogy album because he wanted people to get to know The Changcuters songs better. It turns out that many people have assumed that The Changcuters are actors after the success of their movie THE TARIX JABRIX.

"The purpose of creating a trilogy was actually because we had a concept of how The Changcuters would create music that truly represents The Changcuters," Tria said.

"Before, The Changcuters were active in making movies and also commercial TV. Many people outside of Java who got to know us after that mostly recognized The Changcuters as actors because of the success of the movie TARIX JABRIX, and that's fine. But we want to prioritize The Changcuters' music," he continued.

2. The Journey of The Changcuters' Souls

The Changcuters define this album LOYALIS as their journey of the soul and also their true identity.

"So we made this trilogy because we thought that one album was not enough to define what kind of music The Changcuters are, so we divided it into three, where VISUALIS is vision, BINAURALIS is hearing, and LOYALIS is heart. So it's a journey of the soul," explained Tria.

"From the first and second trilogy albums, there is development, maybe this third one is the conclusion. There are new characters, new stories. Maybe that's the common thread," concluded Qibil.
