The Song 'Summer Tears' Becomes the Debut of DJ Winky and Eka Gustiwana's Latest Project

Kapanlagi.com - Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia launched its newest sub-label called FloorInc. This becomes the second sub-label of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia after Megah Music, which was released in December last year. Unlike before, FloorInc itself focuses more on Dance and Electronic music.

"The goal is to show potential artists and audiences that Sony Music accepts genres that they imagine. So, it can open and provide a platform for young talents out there," said Munna, General Manager of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in a virtual press conference on Thursday (22/7/2021).

At the same time, FloorInc also announced two top musicians from Indonesia, Eka Gustiwana and Winky Wiryawan (DJ Winky), as the label's first release in a collaboration called the Eka Winky Project.

"Eka and I discussed how we could create a song, with a Western pop feel but a Malay tone. In this music, there are elements of Betawi culture. Things like that have a slight reggae touch. Eka is known for combining traditional music, and I still want to stay with the guitar and not become a DJ," said Winky Wiryawan.

1. Non-Mainstream Genre

"We create music that represents our roots, and that's what makes Floorinc unique in accepting non-mainstream genres. They are not forcing it, they are very open-minded. I like it because it makes the music rich," said Eka Gustiwana.

As their debut, Eka Winky Project released a new song called Summer Tears. What makes it even more special is that the song is sung by Sorenza Nuryanti. A talented singer who is only 13 years old.

Sorenza Nuryanti is known for her beautiful voice. In fact, she received praise from the judges when she participated in The Voice Kids Indonesia competition.

"I was really amazed, personally I'm very happy, I had the opportunity to collaborate with great musicians. At first, Eka contacted me and sent me the instrumental music, then challenged me to write the lyrics. After that, I created the music and Eka immediately liked it. That was the beginning of our collaboration process," said Sorenza Nuryanti.
