Welcoming Ramadan, Religious Band from Solo Assahlan Releases an Album with 12 Songs

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian music industry is welcoming a religious music group called Assahlan. Not playing around, this group from Solo immediately introduced a debut album consisting of 12 songs as an introduction.

The vocalist, who is also a famous dermatologist in Solo, Dr. Khoirul Hadi Sp, KK, explained about the album. Apparently, the making of this album began from a collection of reflections that stirred in his mind during his recovery period after being infected with COVID-19.

"The lyrics of this song are a collection of contemplative reflections I had during isolation and the recovery period after being infected with COVID-19. Then we arranged it into a religious song," explained Khoirul Hadi during the album launch in Solo on Thursday (08/04).

1. 12 Songs in 2.5 Months

Although he doesn't have a musical background, Khoirul was able to write 12 lyrics at once. From there, he started contacting some of his colleagues to turn the works into songs. The time it took was relatively short.

"Overall, from writing the lyrics to arranging them into songs, it was quite fast. So, it only took about 2.5 months to work on these 12 songs. That includes mixing and mastering," added Khoirul Hadi.

2. Different from Most Religious Bands

The album from Assahlan is distributed through Bayu Randu's Music Blast label, which has previously released singles and albums from several big names such as Edane, Tremor, and others. In a separate occasion, Bayu admitted that Assahlan's songs are different from most other religious bands.

"I have listened to all 12 songs from Assahlan, and besides their educational lyrics, their music is different from anything that has been done before. Assahlan dares to arrange religious songs with a contemporary touch, making it very interesting. I even had some difficulty choosing the best song because, in my opinion, they are all great," explained Bayu.

Assahlan's album contains hit songs such as Puasa (Fasting), Zakat (Charity), Tahajjud (Night Prayer), Sahur (Pre-Dawn Meal), Shubuh (Dawn), and Kembang Duka (Flower of Grief). The album is also available on various digital music platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Iguana, and others.
