Behind The Scene Bontang City Carnival 2023, Diskominfo Bontang Willing to Train for a Month!

Kapanlagi.com - Bontang City Carnival (BCC) 2023 was successfully held with great fanfare, even attracting the attention of people from all over the country.The success of the cultural parade, which is an annual event commemorating the Anniversary of Bontang City, is certainly inseparable from the participation of the participants in the series of events.

A unique story also emerged from behind the scenes of the event held on Saturday (21/10/2023). The Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) of Bontang City revealed that they had to prepare with a month of training!

Carrying the Minahasa Cultural Theme

Told by the Head of Diskominfo of Bontang City, Anwar Sadat, he revealed that routine training is carried out for the success of the cultural parade.

"We train 4 times", he said when met during the event.

This Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) takes the Minahasa cultural theme. So, it takes enough time and effort to combine dance movements and costume preparation. The preparations made were not in vain because it turned out that the appearance of this agency was quite lively and attracted the audience's interest. Especially the dance movements when performing on the main stage and walking movements along the route were so harmonious. Anwar Sadat himself led the group.

Preparations Considered Short

According to the Secretary of Diskominfo Bontang, Andi Hasanuddin Akmal, the carnival participants had relatively short preparations. He explained that there was only 1 month to prepare amidst the busyness as a civil servant.

“Because the time is short, it becomes a challenge for our preparation effort,” said Andi.

Fortunately, the preparation was helped by collaborating with Sanggar Tari Kawasaran Se Mahassa. The challenges faced could finally be overcome.

“But thankfully, we were able to overcome it through good synergy with the dance studio. Pak Coce (the owner of the dance studio) is always cooperative with us, so we can work together and understand the difficulties we face,” he explained.

Andi explained that the most difficult preparation besides combining dance movements and costumes is integrating the movements of the civil servants. It is not easy to blend the movements of everyone because not everyone is familiar with dancing.

“What we are performing is Tari Kawasaran. It is a war dance, so it becomes the biggest challenge. Alhamdulillah, we were able to overcome this challenge through practice,” said Andi.

The next challenge is the issue of time. With limited time, the effort made must be strong enough to overcome it. Once again, the dance studio that helped Diskominfo Bontang has provided many solutions.

“Alhamdulillah, today we were able to perform in a cohesive, synergistic, and highly collaborative manner, especially when performing on the main stage, in front of the main podium, with the presence of the Mayor of Bontang and other officials,” he said.

He also acknowledged that the Bontang City Carnival 2023 event created a collaborative action with art enthusiasts, such as Diskominfo Bontang, which partnered with the dance studio to create creations in art and culture.
