Himakum UMKT Presents Ganjar Pranowo, Discusses the Role of Youth in Democracy

Kapanlagi.com - The Faculty of Law of Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan (FH UMKT) through the Law Student Association (Himakum) successfully held a National Seminar and Public Discussion themed "Maintaining the Nation's Common Sense: Voices, Roles, and Actions of Youth in Democracy" on Wednesday (15/4), at the Co-Working Space of Building G UMKT.

This event, which is part of the annual agenda "Law Fest," was attended by representatives from the Mayor of Samarinda, the Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PWM) of East Kalimantan, Vice Rectors, Deans and Vice Deans of FH UMKT, heads of study programs, and hundreds of students.

The seminar also featured national speakers and academics, including Ganjar Pranowo, Ikhwanul Muslimin, Aidul Fitriciada Azhari, and Nurlaila Ramadani.

The Chair of the Committee, Losa Raja Amru, stated that the enthusiasm of the participants was very high with attendance reaching around 600 people.

"This seminar serves as an open dialogue space for students and the community to strengthen critical awareness in maintaining the quality of democracy in Indonesia," he said.

The General Chair of Himakum for the period 2025-2026, Jonathan Rafly, emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation in nurturing democratic values.

The Dean of FH UMKT, Aidul Fitriciada Azhari, also expressed appreciation for the successful organization of the event. He believes that this national seminar presents prominent speakers who can enrich the participants' insights.

"This event becomes an oasis for students and the community who are thirsty for intellectual dynamics, while also strengthening the role of the campus as a space for dialectics and the development of critical thinking," he said.

Through this event, UMKT encourages the active role of the younger generation as agents of change who can maintain the nation's common sense amidst the ever-evolving dynamics of democracy.
