Yes, according to the owner of Istana Boneka, Susan Soewono, initially Istana Boneka received a strong reprimand from Disney in the United States. Susan mentioned this when contacted by the media recently.

At that time, Susan didn't know how to obtain the license. Moreover, Disney Indonesia didn't exist.
"There is a long story between me and Disney because back then there was no Disney Indonesia. It was in Singapore and I didn't really understand how to buy the license," said Susan.
Until 2014, Disney USA gave a harsh reprimand to the Doll Palace.
"But at one point in 2014, we received a harsh reprimand from Disney US that we had made a collection of Disney dolls without buying the license," Susan continued.

However, the reprimand actually made Susan proud. Because, out of many doll manufacturers, the Doll Palace was the one that caught their attention.
"At that time, I had two feelings, surprised because why out of all of Indonesia, they chose us. There is an extraordinary pride, how proud that the US could notice the Doll Palace which, incidentally, everyone in Indonesia also produces pirated versions," she said.
Finally, the Disney dolls that had already been produced up to one truck had to be burned. Initially, the dolls were intended to be donated to an orphanage, but Disney did not allow it. Of course, it caused sadness in Susan's heart.
Now, Istana Boneka (Doll Palace) has obtained an official license from Disney. The Disney dolls that are currently in high demand are the Frozen dolls.
"For Disney products, Frozen is the most favorite. So, the highest sales are for Frozen, especially Frozen two," explained Susan.

"We create our own cartoon characters, namely Boni Bonita, who is very cute with his friends. So, we make various variations of dolls, car accessories, bags, and anything else," concluded Susan.
