Ammar Zoni Claims There is Manipulation by Certain Individuals, Urges Public Prosecutor to Present CCTV from Detention Center

Actor Ammar Zoni is back in court for a continuation of the drug trafficking case at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (22/1/2026). The main agenda of the hearing is to listen to the testimony from mitigating witnesses presented by his legal team to provide explanations regarding the daily activities of the artist.

Ammar Zoni, through his legal team, has officially submitted a request letter to the Panel of Judges. The request contains a demand for the Public Prosecutor (JPU) to present evidence of the CCTV recordings from the detention center. This is considered very important by Ammar's side to prove the actual facts that occurred.

The former husband of Irish Bella believes that the CCTV footage is key evidence in his case. He feels that there are discrepancies with the facts on the ground. Ammar suspects that there have been manipulative efforts made by certain parties while he was previously in detention.

"Just like this one earlier, we also request, plead for the CCTV to be presented. Because basically, this is the key, you know. The key where in the detention center, we also feel that we are being mistreated and everything is orchestrated by certain individuals, you know," said Ammar Zoni after the hearing on Thursday (22/1/2026).

The legal team led by Jon Mathias emphasized that transparency of evidence is very necessary. They hope that everything can be clearly presented before the Panel of Judges. Ammar also requested public support so that the truth in this case can be revealed fairly soon.

"The content of the letter is a request, a request to the court that we, as the defendants, ask the Panel of Judges to examine and adjudicate this case and kindly order the Public Prosecutor (JPU) to present and submit evidence in the form of CCTV in the trial," explained Ammar Zoni.

Furthermore, Ammar explained the position of the CCTV he mentioned. He stated that the surveillance camera indeed pointed directly to his private area inside the cell. He feels that the existence of this visual evidence will break the narrative that has been accused against him.

"The CCTV does indeed point to the room. So that's why all of this needs to be revealed through the CCTV, because it's not just hearsay, but there is evidence. Now, if it is not presented, it means there is something wrong, it means there is something being hidden," asserted Ammar Zoni.

Ammar hopes that this trial will proceed smoothly without anything being concealed. He wants to show that he is not involved in the drug trafficking network as alleged.

"Yes, basically everything, alhamdulillah it went well earlier and everything is also brighter, right? Uncle? Uncle John, as the legal representative, also mentioned that the issues earlier hopefully can be clarified," concluded Ammar Zoni.
