Ammar Zoni Reads His Plea, Admits Guilt - Claims It Will Be His Last Case

Actor Ammar Zoni is back in court facing charges of drug abuse at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (2/4/2026). In this session, the former husband of Irish Bella read his defense note or plea in front of the panel of judges.

While holding back his emotions, Ammar admitted all his mistakes and hopes that this legal process will be the final turning point in his life. He expressed that he had prepared this plea material very personally.

Ammar recounts his life story honestly and openly as a form of accountability. He feels it is time to break free from the dark cycle of drugs that has ensnared him multiple times.

"And I think, this place is the last place for me to come again, you know, to be present in this place and to sit in this chair (the defendant's chair). This is the last one. So I, I have prepared this plea really explicitly, discussing from the beginning about my life story," said Ammar Zoni when met at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday (2/4/2026).

Although he requests leniency, Ammar firmly states that he does not feel justified. He fully realizes that his actions of using illegal substances are a grave mistake, especially for himself. He is now focused on recovery to avoid falling back into the same trap in the future.

"I also do not claim that I am purely innocent, no. I know I am guilty. I am guilty, I am guilty, the most important thing is I am guilty to myself, who has repeatedly fallen, fallen, and fallen again," he said.

For Ammar, the struggle against addiction is not an easy thing. He likens recovery from drug dependence to riding a bicycle that must be pedaled continuously to avoid falling. He also pleads for support from everyone so that he can truly recover.

"And Alhamdulillah, maintaining this recovery, recovery is like cycling, whenever you stop you fall. (Recovery is like cycling, whenever you stop, you will fall). So, it's like I have to keep maintaining my recovery. That's why I also ask for support from all the people," he said.

At the end of his statement, Ammar emphasized that he is a victim of addiction. He hopes that society can learn from the case that befell him so as not to make the same mistake.

"I am guilty of drug abuse. I am guilty for any reason I did, I am still guilty. I am a victim, I am sick," concluded Ammar.
