House Installment of 379 Million Per Month, Ruben Onsu Asks Sarwendah Not to Claim as Personal Property

The issue of shared assets between Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah Tan focuses on the luxury house located in the Cilandak area. Ruben's lawyer revealed shocking facts about the amount of installments that his client has been bearing all this time.

"Well, we have evidence that Ruben has been diligent in paying the mortgage installments to Bank BCA, which can reach 379 million per month. 379 million per month!" said Minola Sebayang when met in the Bangka area, South Jakarta, on Monday (1/6/2026).

This fantastic amount is paid by Ruben regularly to provide a decent residence for his family. However, there are concerns from Ruben's side that this asset might later be fully claimed as the property of the other party.

"However, Ruben doesn’t want that, because Ruben has seen signs of concern that the house, which is a shared asset, is claimed to be property that is not a shared asset. This could make Ruben worry that the children in their mother's custody think that their father hasn’t done anything. Their father hasn’t provided anything, even that house has no contribution from their father," explained Minola.

Minola Sebayang emphasized that the division of assets should be done fairly and transparently according to the applicable laws. He suggested that all properties should be listed first before being equally divided between both parties.

"Actually, the fair way is to list all the joint assets, the marital property that exists in the marriage. How much is there, what forms does it take, then we categorize which ones are not burdened by any obligations and which ones are still burdened by obligations. Then we first divide those that are not burdened at all, 50-50," said Minola.

Problems arise when Sarwendah's party is said to want to take over the remaining installment obligations in the future. Ruben does not have an issue with that as long as there is a clear acknowledgment of the contribution of the money he has spent from the beginning.

"Even if, for example, it is to be handed over to the child, the child must understand that at the end of this journey, it is Mama who pays it off, but from the beginning to the middle of the journey, it is Papa who pays. Fair, right? Fair. But if, for example, he wants to claim that it is entirely his hard work without any contribution from Ruben, is it reasonable for Ruben to ask for my money back? It is reasonable!" he emphasized.

So far, Ruben Onsu is considered very orderly in following legal procedures related to the signing of deeds at the notary. However, Minola regrets the attempts to undermine Ruben's dignity as a head of the household.

"Do not do it, especially trying to demean our client, who is also the father of his children, and undermine his dignity as a man. Humiliating his authority as a father who should be responsible for his children," said Minola.

Ruben's legal counsel also warned that they have complete data regarding the flow of funds to the luxurious house in Cilandak. They demand clarity so that no party feels they are the most instrumental in the ownership of that valuable asset.

"We never asked for a refund unless there are indications that the asset wants to be claimed as personal property while Ruben has a stake in it. Please return it! After that, you can claim it, shout about it, tell anyone that this is my result. Go ahead," said Minola Sebayang
