Kapanlagi.com - The continuation of the trial in the vape case involving hard drugs that ensnared Jonathan Frizzy alias Ijonk was held again at the Tangerang District Court on Tuesday (26/8/2025). The Public Prosecutor (JPU) presented two witnesses, namely the protocol party and an expert from BPOM.
During the trial, the JPU asked about the substance etomidate to the BPOM expert witness, Nur Maulida. She explained that etomidate falls into the category of hard drugs, so its use must be with a doctor's prescription.
"Etomidate itself actually does not have a distribution license in Indonesia," said Nur Maulida.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Frizzy's legal counsel, Lamgok Heryanto Silalahi, believes that the expert witness's statement shows that etomidate cannot be proven just by looking at the liquid directly.
"Indeed, we cannot see whether a liquid is etomidate or not, it cannot be like that," said Lamgok. He also emphasized that etomidate is a new substance in Indonesia.
"So, it was also mentioned earlier that etomidate is a very new item in Indonesia, even there is no license, it has not been registered, as he said earlier," he explained.
This case began with the arrest of three individuals who are not public figures by the police. From the evidence, a number of electronic cigarettes or vapes containing hard drugs were found.
In the investigation process, the police then requested statements from Jonathan Frizzy until he was eventually named a suspect for allegedly violating the Health Law. However, the police did not immediately detain Ijonk for humanitarian reasons as he was still in recovery after surgery.
However, after the case files were submitted to the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, Jonathan Frizzy was placed in the Class II A Tangerang Youth Correctional Facility to serve his detention.
Previously, the Public Prosecutor had charged Jonathan Frizzy along with three other defendants, namely ER, BTR, and EDS. They were charged under Article 435 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health related to the abuse of harmful substances.
