In the midst of the custody battle, the psychological condition of Inara Rusli and Virgoun's children has come under scrutiny. Inara's lawyer, Daru Quthny, stated that her clients' children have actually asked to be picked up and returned to their mother's home.

Daru claims to have video evidence where the children clearly ask Inara to pick them up. This seems to counter the narrative that the children are more comfortable living with Virgoun.

"The children whose videos I received are indeed the ones who, as children do, ask to go home. 'Mommy, please pick me up, when will you pick me up?' Something like that. This means the child is already asking to be picked up like that," said Daru Quthny when met in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/2/2026).

The Inara party also highlighted the changes in behavior and health of the children while living with Virgoun. In addition to a persistent cough suspected to be caused by exposure to cigarette smoke, the unrestricted access to gadgets and the internet is also feared to affect their growth and development.

"Based on the children's statements and testimonies from those who care for the children, they were given unrestricted access to the internet, and the children have also been coughing for almost a month and have not recovered due to exposure to cigarette smoke," added Herlina, the legal team for Inara.

The psychological condition of the children is also reported to have deteriorated due to hoax news and hate speech targeting their mother. Inara regrets the negative impact of adult conflicts that innocent children have to bear.

Inara actually has a private house in the Semanang area that is ready to accommodate her children. The legal representative confirmed that if the children return, they will live with Inara in that house, not in her new husband's house.

Inara's extended family, including her grandmother, also misses the presence of their grandchildren very much. They hope Virgoun can be generous enough to return the children to their mother according to the applicable custody rights. "Well, if it is indeed picked up, then it is also impossible for them to live in a house that is not theirs because they will definitely be in Semanang like that," Daru emphasized.
