The decision to file an appeal is not without reason and has been carefully considered. Paula's attorney, Alvon Kurnia Palma, stated that there are principled matters that make his client feel the need to correct the ruling.
"In principle, it is more about the application of the law that does not comply with legal standards, which impacts the ruling's dictum," said Alvon Kurnia Palma when contacted on Tuesday (29/4/2025).
The appeal has been officially submitted by Paula Verhoeven's party. This is done to ensure that the legal process runs in accordance with the applicable regulations.
"Today, April 28, 2025, the Legal Team has officially filed an appeal electronically at the South Jakarta Religious Court," said Alvon Kurnia Palma to the media on Monday.
Alvon ensured that this appeal process has met the administrative requirements in the religious court institution. He mentioned that the appeal statement deed has been received and registered legally.
"The electronic Appeal Statement Deed has also been received by the legal team. This means that the appeal statement has officially been registered at the South Jakarta Religious Court," he said.
Paula Verhoeven's divorce petition against Baim Wong has been decided by the South Jakarta Religious Court on April 16, 2025. In the ruling, the panel of judges decided to grant the divorce.
