Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie Sentenced to 8 Months of Rehabilitation Instead of Imprisonment

Kapanlagi.com - The drug abuse case involving artist Nia Ramadhani, her husband, Ardi Bakrie, and their driver, Zen Vivanto, has been decided by the Supreme Court. In its ruling, the Supreme Court (SC) sentenced all three of them to 8 months of rehabilitation.

"The SC's website has actually shown that the case of Ms. Nia, Mr. Ardi, and Mr. Ivan at the appellate level has been decided on March 29, 2022. The verdict is that they are sentenced to undergo rehabilitation for 8 months at FAN Campus," said Wa Ode Nur Zainab, their legal representative, when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police Station on Thursday (21/4/2022).

1. Finished Serving Their Sentence

With this verdict, Wa Ode continued, all three of her clients have finished serving their sentence. According to her, Nia and Ardi should have been released from rehabilitation on March 8.

"Because the verdict was on March 29, 2022. That means they have already completed the 8 months of rehabilitation. So they are done. Because those 8 months, they finished by March 8," said Wa Ode Nur Zainab.

2. Already Appropriate

The verdict, according to Wa Ode, is already appropriate to what she hoped for. Because in her opinion, drug users should be rehabilitated, not imprisoned.

"The verdict is rehabilitation and it is in accordance with the narcotics law and I highly appreciate that drug users should be rehabilitated," she said.

3. Previously Filed an Appeal

Before filing an appeal, Nia Ramadhani, Ardi Bakrie, and Zen Vivanto were sentenced by the Central Jakarta District Court to one year in prison. As is known, Nia Ramadhani, her husband Ardi Bakrie, and their driver Zen Vivanto were arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Police narcotics team on July 7, 2021.

They were arrested after consuming methamphetamine together. In the arrest, the police seized evidence of 0.5 grams of used methamphetamine and its smoking tool.
