Nindy Ayunda's Husband Charged with Multiple Articles, Faces 20 Years in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - The husband of artist Nindy Ayunda, Askara Parasady Harsono, had his first virtual trial for the alleged case of drug abuse and unauthorized possession of firearms at the West Jakarta Court on Monday (19/4/2021).

This trial's agenda is the reading of the indictment by the Public Prosecutor's Office (JPU). Askara is charged with three articles that carry a 20-year prison sentence.

Askara Parasady Harsono is charged with Article 62 of the Indonesian Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropic drugs. Then Article 127 paragraph 1 letter a of the Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. And Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning the possession of firearms.

1. Layered Article

Public Prosecutor, Purnama Sofyan, said that his indictment consists of a psychotropic article that carries a 12-year prison sentence for Askara. Meanwhile, the alleged possession of firearms also poses a 20-year prison sentence for Askara.

"If for psychotropics, the maximum threat is 12 years, but for firearms, it's 20 years," said Purnama Sofyan.

2. Other Witnesses

The Askara trial will resume on April 26, 2021, with the agenda of reading witnesses from the Public Prosecutor's Office. Purnama Sofyan stated that there will be three witnesses from the arresting party.

"Earlier during the trial, three witnesses were mentioned, and currently, these are still the arresting witnesses. Later, there will also be civilian witnesses," said Purnama.

3. Expecting the Best Outcome

Meanwhile, Askara's legal representative, Hervan D Merukh, stated that they request prayers for the legal process against their client to be quickly concluded.

"I ask for prayers for Askara so that the process can be quickly completed and yield the best outcome," concluded Hervan.
