Not Just Looters, Police Hunt Social Media Provocateurs in the Uya Kuya House Attack Case

Kapanlagi.com - The police have successfully uncovered new facts in the case of the attack and looting of Uya Kuya's house. It turns out that the perpetrators involved have different roles, and not all of them acted as looters.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Dicky, detailed the roles of the 12 suspects who have been apprehended. Of that number, the majority were indeed looters, but there were also those who acted as attackers of the officers and even provocateurs.

"7 looters, 4 attacked officers, 1 provoked from social media," he stated when met at the East Jakarta Metro Police, Monday (8/09/2025).

1. Not a Spontaneous Action

The police suspect that the incident involving the father of Cinta Kuya's house is not just an ordinary spontaneous action, but rather an organized act that was even triggered by incitement in the online world. The main focus of the police at this time is to hunt down the provocateur who ignited the fire through social media. The arrest of this provocateur is considered crucial to uncover the mastermind behind the anarchic actions.

To track down the provocateur, the East Jakarta Metro Police are not working alone. They are now coordinating with the cyber team from the National Police Headquarters to trace the digital footprints of the perpetrators.

"We are still investigating, we are also coordinating with the cyber unit from the headquarters that is handling the case," explained AKBP Dicky.

2. Police Serious in Investigating Uya's House Looting Case

The police have stated that they are serious about taking firm action not only against the perpetrators on the ground but also against the "masterminds" hiding behind social media screens. They will investigate this case thoroughly.

As is known, this incident occurred amid escalating political tensions some time ago. Uya Kuya's house became one of the targets of looting, allegedly triggered by public dissatisfaction with officials. Some of his belongings were missing, including his cat and wedding photos.
