Nunung expressed her immense shock. As a fellow fighter, she was a place for Mpok Alpa to share stories and grievances about the disease they faced together.
"Sad, definitely shocked. Because all this time, the deceased always played with me. Yes, sharing about cancer. I always gave her support, encouraged her, and she was very enthusiastic," said Nunung when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (19/8/2025).

In the eyes of this senior comedian, Mpok Alpa is a very strong and spirited woman. She reminisces about how the late woman never once showed her pain in front of others, a struggle that Nunung fully understands the weight of.
"And the late woman was amazing. She was spirited, she never showed her pain like what people with chemo do," she said.
Nunung, who has gone through a similar treatment phase, knows exactly how painful the effects of chemotherapy are for breast cancer patients. She witnessed firsthand how Mpok Alpa went through that process with resilience, but in the end, fate had other plans.
"Chemo is really painful, very painful, and she, she was amazing but indeed fate says otherwise, we cannot oppose fate. That is a secret of God that we do not understand," she explained.
Furthermore, she explained that after undergoing a chemotherapy session, patients are usually not given additional medication to alleviate side effects. This forces cancer fighters to endure excruciating pain until the next chemotherapy schedule.
"Because of cancer, after we do chemo, we go home, we are not given any medication, so the chemo drug cannot be countered with any medication. Whether given pain killers or whatever," she concluded.
