Officially Becoming a City Prisoner, Mark Sungkar Wants to Reunite with Children and Grandchildren

Kapanlagi.com - The request for suspension of detention of veteran actor Mark Sungkar has been granted by the Panel of Judges. It is highly likely that Mark will leave the detention center of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Wednesday (5/5/2021).

Mark Sungkar said the first thing he will do after leaving the detention center is to meet his children and grandchildren. He admitted that he missed them. Understandably, during his detention, he did not allow Zaskia Sungkar and Shireen Sungkar to visit him.

"Yes, I miss them, meeting my grandchildren, children," said Mark briefly at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2021).

1. After Being Exposed to Covid-19

Mark hopes that by being a city detainee, he can also recover his health condition which has not fully recovered after being exposed to Covid-19.    
 
"My condition worsened because I haven't been exposed to sunlight for a month, hopefully after this it will be a blessing, hopefully I will recover quickly," he said.

Mark Sungkar's legal counsel has requested a suspension of detention based on Mark Sungkar's advanced age.

2. Mark's Case

As known, Mark Sungkar sits in the defendant's chair due to alleged corruption in the Triathlon activities and the Pelatnas Asian Games 2018 fund.

At that time, Mark Sungkar, who served as the Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Triathlon Federation (PPFTI), was accused of enriching himself.

He was charged with violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) Jo Article 18 Paragraph (1) letter B of the Corruption Eradication Law, subsidiary to Article 3 Jo Article 18 Paragraph (1) letter B and Article 9 Jo Article 18 Paragraph (1) letter B of the Corruption Eradication Law.
