At the 72nd Miss World event, Indonesia's representative, Monica Kezia Sembiring, brought pride to the nation by winning two prestigious fast track categories, namely Talent and Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP), and making it to the Top 40.

Opal Suchata herself represents a new history for her country. She is the first Thai woman to win the blue crown of Miss World. Her strong advocacy for breast cancer awareness through the "Opal for Her" campaign was one of the keys to her victory.
