Instagram celebrity Isa Zega was sentenced to 3.5 years in a defamation case following a report by the boss of MS Glow, Shandy Purnamasari. The verdict was read alternately by the panel of judges during the trial at the District Court (PN) of Kepanjen, Malang Regency, on Thursday (8/5/2025).

"The court imposes a prison sentence on the defendant of 3 years and 6 months, along with a fine of Rp10 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with an imprisonment of two months," said Ayun Kristiyanto, the Chief Judge during the verdict session at the PN Kepanjen, Malang Regency, on Thursday (8/5/2025).

Isa Zega was charged under Article 45 Paragraph (10) Jo Article 27B Paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions.

The judge's sentence is lighter than the demand from the Public Prosecutor (JPU), who sought a prison sentence of 5 years and a fine of Rp 10 million. The sentence will be reduced by the duration of detention during the trial process.

After listening to the reading of the sentence, Isa had the opportunity to consult with legal counsel regarding the possibility of appealing. The court provided seven days to decide between appealing or accepting the sentence. Both Isa Zega and the JPU stated they would think it over before the session was adjourned.
