"The defendant knew that she was pregnant. The actions of the victim's child and the defendant were not good, causing the defendant to avoid the victim's child from terminating the pregnancy," said the presiding judge at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (1/10/2025).

"That the victim's child understood the situation that occurred and the defendant instructed the victim's child to find out for themselves about the procedure for abortion and where to buy it," he continued.

In a state of distress, the victim was ultimately forced to purchase abortion pills online. To hide her identity, she even used the alias 'Alexa'. The process of buying and consuming the medication was done with Vadel's knowledge. The judge detailed how this horrific process occurred until the victim experienced severe side effects.

"And the victim's child immediately took the medication and drank it with our sprite along with the defendant, and within a minute, the victim's child experienced stomach pain, felt cramps, fell asleep, and bled fresh blood, according to the child's testimony," he continued.

"Then the victim's child bought the abortion medication using the alias Alexa and instructed the witness to pick it up and purchase it by brand. Then the witness handed over the abortion pills," he said.

The severe bleeding experienced by the victim serves as physical evidence of the suffering they must endure. In fact, a witness was asked to clean the bathroom that was filled with blood after the incident.

"Then the victim's child asked the witness to clean the bathroom that was full of blood. They contacted the defendant by phone and told what happened," he explained.

Vadel's actions in deceiving the victim leading to pregnancy and abortion are considered by the panel of judges to fulfill the elements of a crime.

"The defendant persuaded by showing great affection for the victim's child, stating that he wanted to seriously establish a relationship with the victim's child and then also promised to marry the victim's child, which according to the panel of judges, constitutes deception and a series of lies to seduce the victim's child into engaging in sexual intercourse," he said.
