Ridwan Kamil Apologizes to the Public for Any Inconvenience Caused During Funeral Procession

Kapanlagi.com - The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, could not hide his sadness after the funeral procession of his son at the Islamic Centre Baitul Ridwan, Cimaung, West Java on Monday (13/6). After the procession, Ridwan Kamil gathered the courage to approach the media on site.

He expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin for their support and prayers during the search and funeral of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz. He also thanked the entire community who supported them from the search until the burial of his son.

"On behalf of the family of the late Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, I would like to express my gratitude to President Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, and the ministers of the Indonesian Maju Cabinet," said Ridwan Kamil.

"Once again, I would like to thank the community for their prayers," he added.

Nevertheless, Ridwan Kamil apologized to the public for any inconvenience caused during the funeral procession.

"I apologize today if the funeral procession made the public uncomfortable during their travels. We did not intend to do so, but we could not avoid the enthusiasm of the community," he said.

In addition, without diminishing respect, Ridwan Kamil admitted that he couldn't say much yet. When the time is right and he is ready, he will speak at length.

"Later there will be a time when I can speak better, but allow us to adapt to the situation. Please excuse me for not answering any questions yet, and if there are any shortcomings in our coverage, please forgive us," he concluded.

There was something that caught attention at Eril's funeral. It is known that Ridwan Kamil and his wife, Atalia Praratya, as well as their family, tried to be strong. However, at the funeral, they couldn't hold back their sadness. Judging from the number of mourners present, it seems that not only the family lost Eril, but all the guests who were present also felt the same way.

Previously, Eril went missing and drowned in the Aare River in Switzerland on Thursday (26/5). After a two-week search, Eril's body was finally found on Wednesday (8/6) morning local time in the Engehalde water gate area.

"Eril's death is a tremendous loss in a moment of almost parallel time. We feel the greatest loss, but at the same time, we feel overwhelmed with great love. Allow me to express a piece of love, who Eril was, and what was the wisdom behind Eril's departure.

14 days can feel short in our daily routine, but these 14 days have become so long in our lives. We wonder why, Allah, why did it have to be this long? Why not sooner, so that everything could pass quickly, so that we who are still alive don't feel too sad for too long? But time is Allah's secret that is impossible to break, especially when it comes to birth and death.

Time is relative, that's what wise people say, and in the end, we accept it with an open heart, because we can find many clear signs. In the span of 14 days, which was honestly very tiring, we also learned a lot and received wisdom about Eril's life, which at first glance seemed too short, but upon reflection, was actually full of benefits," said Ridwan Kamil.

5. Accepting Eril's Departure

Ridwan Kamil continued, "23 years may not be enough to create great works, but it is proven to be sufficient to become a beloved human being. We learn about life that is not only about the length of the day, but about every breath used to do good, even if it's small in everyday life.

We accept Eril's departure because we finally realize that Allah has sufficed all of his deeds to cover the possibility of his mistakes. It may be difficult, but we have prepared our hearts that we will never again see his body for the last time. Wasn't Eril born in New York, which is far away, why not if he dies in Switzerland, which is also far away.

Isn't every inch of land owned by Allah who determines all departures and returns. The prayers from various parts of the country are more than enough signs for us to believe that perhaps Allah wants his return to be welcomed by heaven and earth."
