Titiek Puspa Passes Away, Ahmad Dhani Proposes the Legend to be Named a National Composer Hero of Indonesia

The legendary singer and actress took her last breath at Medistra Hospital, South Jakarta, on Thursday (10/4/2025) at 16:25 WIB. The news of her passing was conveyed directly by her daughter, Petty Tunjungsari, in a mourning family condition.

"Assalamualaikum, Wr, Wb. Innalilahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun, our mother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, great-grandmother, Mrs. Titiek Puspa, Hj. Titiek Puspa, age 87, has passed away. Today, April 10, 2025, at 16:25, at Medistra Hospital, peacefully and calmly," said Petty to the media crew on Thursday (10/4/2024).

Petty mentioned that her mother had undergone treatment after surgery due to a left brain hemorrhage. The health condition of the singer of "Kupu-Kupu Malam" was critical before she finally passed away.

1. Ahmad Dhani's Loss

The departure of the woman known as a songwriter has left many feeling a sense of loss. This includes musician Ahmad Dhani, who was participating in a public debate in Senayan, Central Jakarta at the time.

"We express our condolences and sympathy for Titiek Puspa who has passed away," said Ahmad Dhani.

Ahmad Dhani also mentioned that he received the news of Titiek Puspa's death from one of his colleagues at AKSI, Denny Chasmala. Even though he was in the middle of a debate, Mulan Jameela's husband immediately invited all participants to pause their activities for a moment.

"Let us observe a moment of silence for Titiek Puspa, she is a hero composer in Indonesia," Dhani said while inviting everyone present to remember the late Titiek with a prayer.

2. Propose to Make Her a Hero Composer of Indonesia

After the moment of silence ended, Dhani not only expressed his feelings of loss but also made a special proposal to the Government. He believes that the woman who has dedicated herself to the music world for decades deserves an honorary title.

"We propose to the Government that Titiek Puspa be declared a hero composer of Indonesia," Dhani said.
