Vadel Badjideh Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison, Instead Laughs and Calls the Law in Indonesia Funny

Vadel Badjideh finally accepts his fate. The TikToker known for his dance content has to swallow a bitter pill after the High Court rejected his appeal and actually increased his sentence.

Vadel, who was initially sentenced to 9 years in prison related to a sexual assault case against Lolly, now has to stay behind bars for 12 years.

Even though the imposed sentence has become heavier, Vadel Badjideh's reaction was unexpected. His lawyer, Oya Abdul Malik, revealed that his client did not show any sad or depressed reactions. On the contrary, Vadel responded to the verdict with cynical laughter.

Oya Abdul Malik recounts the moment he delivered the bad news to Vadel. Laura Meizani's boyfriend found something amusing about the justice system he is currently experiencing.

"Yes, his response was just to laugh. He said, 'Isn't it funny how our law works?' I replied, 'That's enough,'" said Oya Abdul Malik.

Not only Vadel, but the Badjideh extended family also reacted similarly. They feel that justice seems absent in this case. The family believes there is a disparity between the facts revealed in court and the verdict handed down by the judge.

"The family feels the same way, just saying, 'Is this really happening? There is no justice. What are the facts, what is the verdict?'" Oya explained, mimicking the words of Vadel's family.

Although the sentence has been increased, Oya assures that Vadel Badjideh's psychological condition is just fine. He emphasizes that his client's mental state is not disturbed at all, even though he has to face the shadows of a longer prison sentence.

"Not disturbed at all," Oya firmly stated when asked by the media about Vadel's mental condition. Oya added that Vadel's family remains calm and has strong faith, believing that the truth will eventually be revealed.

"I do not provide strength, but thank God they have faith and believe in God's miracles. That's all," he added.

Now, Vadel's side has officially filed for cassation to the Supreme Court. They hope that the judges at the cassation level can be more observant in seeing the trial facts and provide the fairest ruling for the curly-haired man.
