The Vadel Badjideh party has sharply criticized the performance of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) in handling their client's case. Vadel's attorney, Oya Abdul Malik, accused the JPU of being careless and failing to present crucial evidence to support the abortion charges, namely the results of the fetal examination.

According to Oya, the absence of scientific evidence in the form of a fetal autopsy result weakens and undermines all accusations related to abortion. He stated that the public prosecutor was unable to forensically prove that an abortion event occurred as a result of the medication consumed by LM.
This failure, according to him, greatly harms Vadel's position as the defendant. Oya emphasized that without scientific evidence, the charges should not be able to be proven.
"The public prosecutor has also failed to complete the trial documents regarding the autopsy results of the fetus. During the trial, the prosecutor could not prove the autopsy results concerning the fetus or baby alleged to have been born as a result of abortion," said Oya Abdul Malik in South Jakarta, Wednesday (1/10/2025).
He added that not a single forensic document was presented at the trial. Oya considers this a fatal oversight by the prosecution.
"No legal facts in the form of forensic documents have been found stating that an abortion occurred involving the victim's child or that an abortion occurred as a direct result of the medication taken by the victim's child," he explained.
"The lack of thoroughness by the public prosecutor in completing the documents presented in court to charge the defendant with the accusation of having performed an abortion will greatly disadvantage the defendant in this case," he added.
On this basis, Vadel's side questions the integrity of the ongoing legal process and will make it one of the main points in the appeal memorandum.
"What's going on? What's going on with law enforcement in Indonesia? What's going on with the prosecutors? What's going on with the council?" concluded Oya.
