Venna Melinda Ready to Face the First Divorce Hearing, Ferry Irawan's Address Finally Found

The process, which had been stalled, can now continue because Ferry Irawan's address has been found, supported by an official statement from the local administration.

“Because the address has been obtained. And then the address was checked, and indeed there is a statement from the local administration confirming this is correct (Ferry's address),” said Venna Melinda when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (12/11/2024).

Their first divorce hearing is scheduled for November 14, 2024, at the South Jakarta Religious Court. Venna hopes this process can be completed soon and provide her with legal clarity after waiting for so long.

“Yes, on November 14, hopefully, the divorce process can be completed soon,” said Venna.

Venna acknowledged that, all this time, finding Ferry's address has been one of the main obstacles in continuing the divorce process. Because, after the domestic violence incident involving Ferry, the man’s new residence has been unknown to the mother of three.

Venna and her legal team have to work hard to find information related to Ferry's new address so that the divorce process can proceed.

“So, if we didn’t know where the address was yesterday, it was quite difficult, because at that time he left my house. So, at the time of the incident, we had to make an effort to find his address,” explained Venna.

2. Test of Patience

According to her, the search for this address is the last step that must be taken to end their marriage. Venna's journey of more than a year in this divorce process has also taught her many things.

The 52-year-old woman considers this a test of patience that she must endure with determination. “More than a year, yes that’s life, a test of patience. I keep trying to get a divorce,” said Venna.

Venna also highlighted that the divorce process in the religious court has its own mechanisms that require patience. According to Venna, the summons to carry out the divorce declaration given to Ferry earlier went unanswered, and when she filed the lawsuit, Ferry's address could not be found.

"Because the mechanism of religious courts in our country is like that, when summoned for divorce, (Ferry) was not present," Venna revealed.
