Jirayut Nearly Refused to Be the Main Actor in the Film 'CEK KHODAM'

Jirayut is finally ready to showcase his new skills in the acting world through the horror-comedy film CEK KHODAM. However, behind this great opportunity, the Thai singer was actually filled with doubts before accepting the offer to be one of the main actors.

The singer, whose full name is Afisan Jehdueramae, admitted that he did not immediately agree to the invitation from Dee Company. His lack of experience in acting made him worry about not being able to meet the expectations placed on him. Jirayut shared his feelings when he first received the offer. He even considered rejecting the opportunity that has now become an important debut in his acting career.

"At first, I was a bit hesitant. I was a bit hesitant to take it because, well, I wasn't confident. I was afraid of disappointing people," said Jirayut when met by KapanLagi at Metropole XXI, Thursday (25/6/2026).

The doubt arose because he felt he did not have enough preparation to play the main character in a feature film. Although he has been in the Indonesian entertainment industry for a long time, the world of acting remains a new challenge for the singer of the song TERLUKA CINTA.

In the midst of his uncertainty, Jirayut received full support from his mother. The woman who has always been an important figure in his life encouraged her child to seize the opportunity that came. "And it turns out that the encouragement really came from Mama, she was like, 'take it, take it, take it, take it,'" said Jirayut.

The man born in Narathiwat, Thailand, believes that this support was one of the reasons he finally accepted the project. He also feels that the opportunity to act in CEK KHODAM is an answer to his mother's hope to see him appear on the big screen.

"Yes, maybe that's indeed a prayer from Mom as well, my Mom wanted to see me act in a movie and thank God, my match is indeed in the film Cek Khodam," he expressed.

Interestingly, CEK KHODAM is not the first film offer that has come to Jirayut. Before this, several projects had approached him, but various considerations made those collaborations never materialize.

"There were some, but maybe the budget didn't match or the character might not fit, or maybe it was just a matter of inquiry that passed by, my match is indeed in the film Cek Khodam," said Jirayut.

The film CEK KHODAM itself tells the story of three young men who work together with a ghost to scare humans in the modern era. Directed by Jeropoint, this film stars Jirayut along with Benidictus Siregar and Saputra Kori, and is scheduled to be released in theaters starting July 16, 2026.
