Rama D'Academy 8 Turns Out to be an Old Friend of April DA7 from Cirebon

Kapanlagi.com - Rama's success in breaking into the Final Audition of D'Academy 8 is indeed inseparable from April, an alumni of the talent search event Indosiar from Cirebon. As a fellow local talent, Rama admits he was inspired by his friend's career journey.

According to Rama, April's appearance on screen made him dream of standing on the same stage. Their closeness since the past has been a motivation for him to try his luck in D'Academy 8.

"If you look at April. April is also from Cirebon, so I want to join too. Yes, she's my friend," he said at the Emtek Indosiar Studio, West Jakarta, Monday (8/7/2026).

Interestingly, Rama chose to keep his participation in the audition a secret. He did not inform April until they finally met in Jakarta.

"No, I didn't inform her. Just met directly," he said.

1. Separated Due to Busyness

Rama also admits that their relationship is no longer as close as it used to be due to their individual busyness, especially after April became active in the professional dangdut music scene.

"We used to be close, but now she’s participating in competitions, so we don’t hang out together," he said.

2. Happy to Meet April Again

The moment of reuniting with April was a memorable experience for Rama. He saw his friend looking surprised yet happy to learn that he had successfully advanced to the final audition stage.

"We’ve met. April seemed shocked, yeah, she was surprised but also seemed happy, especially since we’re both from Cirebon," he explained.

With support from fellow residents of Cirebon, Rama feels more confident facing the competition in D'Academy 8. He hopes to follow in April's footsteps of success and make his hometown proud.

"Bismillah 100% sure," said Rama.
