Willing to Commute Between Bandung and Jakarta, Mela Pursues Her Dream at D'Academy 8

Kapanlagi.com - Mela Pujayanti's struggle to perform on the D'Academy 8 stage is not easy. The contestant from Bandung is willing to commute back and forth between Bandung and Jakarta to participate in every stage of the audition, even at the cost of time, energy, and expenses.

Mela admits that all these sacrifices are made to realize her dream of becoming a professional dangdut singer. For her, the opportunity to participate in D'Academy is a chance that should not be wasted.

"The struggle is quite long, you know. Like, I really go back and forth from Bandung. Bandung-Jakarta, Bandung-Jakarta, that costs quite a bit, but it's okay, the important thing is that I have the intention," said Mela when met at Studio 5 Emtek City, West Jakarta, Friday (3/7/2026).

1. First Experience

Mela referred to D'Academy 8 as her first experience participating in the audition for the event. Although she hopes to go far, she has also prepared herself if the outcome does not meet her expectations.

"It's okay, maybe it's just not my fortune here. The point is I still have to learn, maybe my fortune is out there," she said.

2. Representative of Bandung

Being able to represent Bandung at the national event makes Mela proud. She also admitted to being amazed by the number of young participants who have extraordinary vocal quality.

"I am amazed, it turns out it's not just the older generation, but the current generation still has many who love dangdut. I am also proud," she said.

3. Prepare Mentally

In the Final Audition, Mela chose to focus on mental preparation in addition to continuously honing her vocal skills. According to her, self-confidence is the main asset when performing in front of the judges.

"Of course, mental is number one. Mental, voice, and of course, we pray for a clear path from the heavens," she concluded.
