Thanks to being in this film, Masayu had the opportunity to visit India because the shooting process was carried out there. She feels lucky to be able to come to India for the first time.

Before going to India, Masayu received a lot of unpleasant stories about India. However, when she arrived there, she felt that not all the information she received was the same as the actual situation.

"I am very happy to get this film. Because I can shoot for the first time in India and also go there for the first time," said Masayu Anastasia when contacted by telephone on Monday (4/3).

"When I was there, it wasn't as bad as people talked about and as we imagined. So yeah, we were happy there, very happy, and the shooting was also relaxed," she continued.

1. Playing the Role of an Indian Artist

In this film, Masayu plays the role of Devi, who is a famous Indian artist and does not know who her father is. During the shooting process, Masayu also experienced what it's like to be an Indian woman immersed in customs and culture.

"So as Devi, she is immersed in India, wearing clothes from there, and her mother has dressed her in Indian saris since she was a child, until something happens and she no longer wears old-fashioned Indian saris," explained Masayu.

This film is directed by Emilka Biasa and falls under the genre of Triangle Love Saga Father and Daughter Drama, which is a classic formula that continues to be a very interesting and popular ingredient for film audiences worldwide.

Emilka Biasa conducted the shooting in two locations, namely Jambi and India, highlighting the strong local story. In addition to Masayu, this film also stars Atiqah Hasiholan and several other big names.

"I am obsessed with the rich local wisdom in Indonesia, with its interesting and unique cultural elements. And this is actually the strength of our film industry that has not been fully optimized," said Emilka Biasa.

2. Brief Synopsis

The film MHLI tells the story of a little Devi (Naomi Ivo) who was born into a Minangkabau migrant family in Kerinci, a small city on the border of West Sumatra and Jambi provinces.

Devi (Masayu Anastasya) grows up with Farida (Atiqah Hasiholan), her mother. Until she grows up, Devi never knows who her biological father is.

It is rumored that Devi's father is a famous artist in Bombay, India, and Devi strongly believes in this story despite being constantly bullied by her friends.

Emir (Fajri Mambutu) and Uli (Komo Ricky), Devi's two cousins, compete to fulfill all of Devi's dreams. As they grow up, love blossoms between them. Emir and Uli both fall in love with Devi.

Will Devi meet her biological father? And who will Devi choose as her life partner? Emir or Uli? Or perhaps another man who also has feelings for Devi?
