Not Awkward Acting, Here's the Fun Experience of Kevin Abani When Facing Jefri Nichol in the Pertaruhan Series

However, it seems that this does not apply to the young newcomer actor named Kevin Abani. In his first series titled Pertaruhan, Kevin had to act alongside a number of famous Indonesian actors, one of whom was Jefri Nichol.

When met in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta recently, Kevin recounted his experience. He said that Jefri Nichol, who was his co-star, was humble enough so that there was no awkwardness in him when acting.

"My first series was with actors like Jefri Nichol, thank God there was no awkwardness, because I think when you work as an actor, there is no such feeling, and coincidentally we are the same age so we are quite close and can build conversations behind the scenes," said Kevin Abani.

"So there is no awkwardness anymore, finally we made an agreement on how the scene would be. Sometimes during a fighting scene, he kicked me for real but he apologized, that's how humble and enjoyable he is," he continued.

In addition to the Pertaruhan series, Kevin was also involved in a feature film directed by Sidharta Tata titled Waktu Maghrib. This is also his first feature film, and the character played by Kevin is Samiun, a man with a strong Javanese dialect.

However, the actor who played Cacing in the Pertaruhan series admitted that he did not encounter any obstacles even though he himself is a young man from Medan, North Sumatra. Nevertheless, Kevin admitted that his role as Samiun in the film Waktu Maghrib also received criticism.

"There were no obstacles because I like to learn dialects, and my small environment has many Javanese people and I studied in Jogja, so Javanese language is not unfamiliar to me," he said.

"Well, if there are criticisms, but mostly thank God from friends who watched, they gave an impact that the character I played was quite successful and impressive. But if we talk about details, there are some scenes that should still be developed, but overall they are satisfied," he added.

In addition, Kevin also said that if he had the opportunity to star in a feature film again, he would very much like to be directed by Joko Anwar. According to him, Joko Anwar is a director who is able to make a production look expensive and classy.

"I really want to be directed by Mr. Joko Anwar, because I don't know, he is one of the smart directors because I see his production is expensive, he is quite good at making the production look not cheap so I really want to be directed by him," he concluded.
