Detective Keep Distance Talks About the Importance of Maintaining Values in a Relationship

This time, a film that raises the issue of infidelity is packaged in a romantic comedy atmosphere.

In a mini talk show held at Rumah Sarwono, South Jakarta, on May 20, 2023 and attended by various communities, the cast and crew of the Detective Keep Distance film explained why the film, which will be released on June 1, 2023, is very interesting to watch.

“This film actually wants to tell that trust is important in a relationship. Maintaining values in a relationship is also very important," said Wida Handoyo, the producer of the Detective Keep Distance film.

Tesadesrada Ryza, who is also a producer in this film, added that the term 'Keep Distance' which is part of the film's title, was not only chosen because it is relevant to the pandemic situation during the filming in 2021, but also seems to be increasingly relevant now.

“As ordinary humans, we must know ourselves to be able to keep our distance from each other, for example in the context of if you don't want to open gaps for infidelity, then you have to keep your distance, you have to know the limits of friendship," she explained.

“This film is not meant to be a scary specter in the process of building a healthy relationship, but more towards providing lessons to appreciate the relationship that we have established with our partner," added Ryza.

Meanwhile, Marthino Lio, who plays Almond in this film, has his own version of why director Rahabi Mandra's film is interesting to him.

"Recently (in various films) I often take on dark roles, but actually I like to joke around, like to laugh and joke. And why not take this opportunity to show another side of myself in this film. When I read the script, I thought it was funny," he said.

“And I also had the opportunity to be a supporting actor for Bima Sena, why not? Hahaha," he continued while petting Ugie, the pug dog who plays Bro in the film Detektif Jaga Jarak.

The dog named Bro in this film is said to help Takdir, played by Bima Sena, in carrying out his actions as an infidelity detective.

“Takdir is a street child who has no parents and only has Bro, his pet. And to survive, Takdir makes his own money to eat through his work as an infidelity detective," said Bima, a young actor who has just turned 13 years old.

“And this is the first time I've acted in a film with an animal and I'm really happy about it. Especially since BRO is so smart," he continued.

Debby Sahertian, who plays Bu Utami in the film Detektif Jaga Jarak, was also present on the occasion. She initially admitted to being surprised to find out that infidelity detectives actually exist in the real world.

“I was surprised to find out that Infidelity Detectives actually exist. I'm really curious about how they operate in real life," she said.

Debby emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship with one's partner.

“A healthy relationship is between two healthy people. This means that two healthy people are those who build a relationship for good purposes. Their goals are aligned or united through good communication and trust,"

In this film, Debby, who plays Bu Utami, is paired with Pak Junaidi, played by Unang Bagito. They are both the parents of Arum, the woman whom Almond has been dating for years.

As a note, the film Detektif Jaga Jarak, which will soon be released in cinemas throughout Indonesia on June 1, 203, is a production of Seven Sunday Films and Temata Studios. This film was directed and written by Rahabi Mandra, a young director and screenplay writer who previously won The Best Adaptation Screenplay for NIGHT BUS in 2017.
