Perform Extreme Hanging Scenes Without a Body Double in 'SIJJIN', Anggika Bolsterli Gets Sick and Throws Up

Kapanlagi.com - Anggika Bolsterli is involved in a film titled SIJJIN which is adapted from a Turkish horror box office. She portrays a character named Irma who is obsessed with someone else's husband to the point of resorting to black magic.

Playing the character Irma was acknowledged as very difficult by Anggika. Because she had to bring to life a woman who is obsessed with a man and passionately pursues her desires.

"Irma is the most challenging character I have ever played because she is complex. She is a woman obsessed with someone else's husband, so how do I create someone who is obsessed and passionate when it is 180 degrees different from who I am. I am not like that in real life, I am fine," said Anggika when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/11/2023).

1. Kayang Sampai Sakit

Not just a complex role, there were extreme kayang scenes that had to be done by Anggika Bolsterli. Although a body double was provided by the production house, Anggika insisted on doing it herself and got hurt afterwards.

"The most difficult scene was when I had to kayang and was assisted by a sling. It was quite physically challenging and I got sick, even threw up because I had to kayang continuously for several hours," said Anggika.

"But luckily the director and the team understood my physical condition and didn't push me too hard. They said if I couldn't handle it, I should speak up. Actually, a stand-in was already provided but because of my ambition, I wanted to do it myself," added Anggika.

2. Total Commitment of the Cast in Performing Extreme Scenes

Due to the total commitment of the actors, Hadrah Daeng Ratu, the director, expressed his gratitude. Without Anggika Bolsterli and others, the result of SIJJIN would not be as good as it is now.

"There were many extreme scenes. We, as the production team, prepared a body double in case it became too difficult, but all the actors gave exceptional commitment in performing the scenes themselves," said Hadrah on the same occasion.
