Reasons Ernest Prakasa Invites Cinta Laura in 'IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2'

Continuing its success, IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2 is now in production. In addition to the presence of the boarding house gang consisting of Kiky Saputri, Neneng Wulandari, Zsa Zsa Utari, and Aci Resti, the story becomes even more interesting because Reza Rahadian and several cameos, including Cinta Laura, are involved.

Ernest Prakasa, the Creative Producer and Screenwriter, revealed his reason for involving Cinta Laura in IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2. He personally admires Cinta Laura as a public figure.

"I first met Cinta when the movie IMPERFECT premiered. It was strange to see Cinta Laura attending my movie premiere, is she idle or has nothing to do now? Haha. But because of that, we started communicating through DMs," said Ernest Prakasa during a press conference at Studio Persari, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Sunday (19/9).

"Personally, I admire Cinta Laura as an artist, a public figure whose activism is evident. I know very well that in the entertainment industry, it is not easy for entertainers to care about activism and to vocalize their opinions. Sometimes, people don't use entertainers who are too vocal about it." But personally, I still speak up if I think it's important and Love is like that. So I think we have the same spirit," he continued.

1. Cinta Laura Falls in Love with IMPERFECT

However, unfortunately, Cinta Laura's role in IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2 is only a cameo. So Ernest Prakasa hasn't been able to collaborate too much with Cinta Laura. But he hopes to meet again on another occasion.

"Unfortunately, there isn't much collaboration here because Cinta's role is not too big. But we've talked for a long time. I'm glad that I can finally work together with Cinta, but maybe there will be more opportunities in the future," said Ernest Prakasa.

Meanwhile, Cinta Laura admitted that she fell in love with the film since watching it. When she received an offer to play in IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2, Cinta Laura was very happy.

"When I went to the premiere of the film IMPERFECT, it was only 6 months since I returned to Indonesia. So it was one of the first premieres that I attended. I immediately fell in love with the film. Because I have often said to Ernest that the flow is very natural and truly shows our insecurities as humans. As people think we are perfect," said Cinta Laura.

"So when the series was made, I was immediately excited. Moreover, the series can be said as a spin-off from the kids of the boarding house. I followed the journey of IMPERFECT THE SERIES and now there is season two and I am involved. Of course, I feel very happy. When I arrived on set this morning, I immediately felt at home, everyone welcomed me," she continued.

2. Cinta Laura's Role as an Influencer

In IMPERFECT THE SERIES: SEASON 2, Cinta Laura plays the role of an influencer who has to appear perfect on her social media. However, she feels that she has many insecurities.

"Even though my character here is only a cameo, it is a good social commentary because young people nowadays often compare ourselves through social media, which is very unhealthy because it can affect our mental health," she explained.

"Just like my character, even though she becomes a celebgram or suddenly famous influencer, she still has many insecurities, so she feels the need to show her perfect side to the public through social media. However, inside, she is no longer being herself," continued Cinta Laura.

Although her role is small, Cinta Laura hopes that her role can have a positive impact on the audience. "Even though my character's role is small, I am given the opportunity to explore. Even though it may be only a few scenes, I hope my character can have a positive impact on this series," she concluded.
