Starting From a Word, 'GHIBAH' Finally Made Into a Film

Kapanlagi.com - Ghibah words are now starting to become popular among the community. Ghibah itself means mentioning something that is in someone's self, whether it's about physical, religion, wealth, heart, and so on.

Although from the Islamic religion's perspective, it is clear that someone is prohibited from doing ghibah as stated in the Al-Quran Surat Al Hujurat, but many still do it consciously or unconsciously.

This phenomenon has inspired the film writer Makmum, Riza Pahlevi, to turn the story into a feature film. Collaborating again with Dee Company and Blue Water Film, Ghibah seems ready to be produced. This can be seen from the teaser poster of Ghibah uploaded on Dee Company's Instagram account.

In the poster, the title Ghibah is visible with a depiction of a mouth full of maggots usually surrounding a carcass. When confirmed, Riza confirmed that he is currently producing the film Ghibah.

"Yes, we are currently working on the film Ghibah. Actually, the idea is not far from my own personal experience. Just like the film Makmum which is a personal experience. Ghibah is also the same, and I believe it is also felt by others," said Riza when contacted by phone on Thursday (23/1).

2. The Impact of Gossip Victims

In the film, Riza will focus on the impacts of both the perpetrators and victims of gossip. According to him, gossip perpetrators usually are unaware of the dangerous consequences of gossip.

Meanwhile, Producer Dheeraj Kalwani admitted to being interested in the concept of the film Gossip because it has similarities with the film Makmum.

"There is a relatable element between the story of the film and the audience's life. Just like Makmum, everyone goes through a phase where they are not fully focused during prayer. Well, with Gossip, it feels like everyone also does it frequently without realizing it," he concluded.
