Years Without Acting, Ariel Tatum Makes a Comeback as the Wife of a Cheating Victim

Kapanlagi.com - After years of deciding to stop acting, the performance of Ariel Tatum can be seen again in the film SELESAI. In this drama directed by Tompi, Ariel portrays a character named Ayu, who is cheated on by her husband.

When first offered to be involved, Tompi admitted that he was unsure whether Ariel would agree or not, considering that the 26-year-old woman had not acted for a long time. Unexpectedly, Ariel was immediately interested after reading the script.

"I met Ariel during a photoshoot and told her about this project. When I offered it to her, I was afraid she would refuse. So I directed her to another character, hoping she would accept because the acting role was light since she hasn't acted for a long time," said Tompi in a virtual press conference via Zoom on Monday (8/9/2021).

"But when she went home and read the script, she called me and said she wanted to play the role of the wife. I was surprised, is Ariel really willing to do it? Because her acting needs are not ordinary," added the musician who is also a plastic surgeon.

1. Challenging Role

Ariel Tatum reveals her interest in playing the character Ayu because the character is quite challenging to portray. As a result, she remembers the acting training she had previously learned to enhance her performance.

"It's quite challenging for me to work on this film because of the complexity of the character Ayu. Since I haven't acted for a long time, when I saw the character, I realized that it's a big character to play. So I tried to practice acting again like I did before to prepare myself," Ariel said in the same occasion.

Not acting on the big screen for a long time made the owner of the name Ariel Putri Tari happy when given the opportunity to make a comeback. Moreover, other actors such as Gading Marten, Tika Panggabean, Marini Soerjosoemarno, and Anya Geraldine, their acting skills are unquestionable.

"When Mas Tompi first told me about this project and asked me to read the script, somehow I immediately became interested in the character Ayu. I'm really happy to be given the opportunity by Mas Tompi. I already trust Mas Tompi because I've known him for quite a long time, and our tastes align. After reading the extraordinary story, there's no reason to reject this role because the character is challenging," she added.
