Interview with Daniel Bruhl: Will Zemo Become the New Sultan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Zemo collaborates with Falcon and Winter Soldier in this series, how do you see the dynamics of developing the existing characters?

I think it's a brilliant idea to bring the three of them together, to have them work together. With all the conflicts and arguments, and the differences they have, the three of them become an awkward trio. However, they have to work together because for now, they all have the same mission to accomplish. Each of them has a mission for their own interests.

2. Zemo is More than Just a Villain

From the development or transformation of Zemo's character in this series, which one interests you the most?

That's why I really enjoy it. And it also becomes apparent that Zemo is more than just a villain. He is an ambiguous character. Despite the differences in motivation and background, behind that there is an understanding that benefits all three of them.

They all suffer. They have just gone through a bad experience and suffered from losing their loved ones, friends, and colleagues. Zemo lost his family. That suffering... and these three people are haunted by their past.

That's why it's very interesting to see the three of them and how they treat each other. That's what made me decide to participate in this series.

3. Zemo as the New Sultan of MCU?

One more thing, Zemo can have a private jet, personal servants, connections to important figures in the underworld, as well as dozens of classic cars, how rich do you think he is? If compared to Tony Stark or T'Challa?

Hahaha I don't know. However, you can watch it from the TV series, his family is certainly wealthy. That's also what caught my attention, because in CIVIL WAR, viewers only see him as a serious and mission-focused young man.

His background as a nobleman is not highlighted. There is no time in the film to tell his story. It's very enjoyable, to be able to showcase his new style. Wearing a cape, having a private jet, having personal servants. Then stylish and arrogant like a nobleman, drinking champagne, and having an annoying sense of humor, that's what makes it enjoyable.
