OMG! 'INSIDIOUS 5' Will be Released in 2022, Here are 4 Sequels and Prequels That Horror Lovers Must Know

Kapanlagi.com - Happy news comes again from the world of cinema. After THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT was released on June 2, 2021, now it's time for INSIDIOUS to enliven the cinemas with the news of its fifth series that will be released in 2022.

As reported by Digital Spy, this fifth INSIDIOUS film is considered as compensation for fans who were not satisfied with INSIDIOUS chapter 4: THE LAST KEY. Moreover, in the fourth series, the film received a lot of harsh criticism from horror movie enthusiasts, especially INSIDIOUS fans. Nevertheless, it still became the best-selling series with a revenue of 168 million dollars worldwide, equivalent to 2.3 trillion rupiah.

Although the exact release date is not mentioned, producer Jason Blum confirmed that INSIDIOUS 5 will be released in 2022. In addition, Patrick Wilson will be the director for the first time and direct this film, while the cast consists of actors from the previous films, and the storyline is a prequel to INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY. 1. Insidious

INSIDIOUS is the first installment that tells the story of a family, Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson), who moves to a new house. Their son, Dalton, has the ability of astral projection which invites evil spirits and often disturbs Dalton. Worse, these evil spirits start terrorizing Josh and his family. 

One of the evil spirits that haunts them is Red-Face. Josh then seeks help from Elise (Lin Shaye), Tucker (Angus Sampson), and Specs (Leigh Whannell) to eliminate the disturbance.

2. Insidious: Chapter 2

After the previous film, Dalton is freed from the disturbance of evil spirits. Josh's family finally moves to Lorraine's house (Barbara Hershey). However, things become more tense when the evil spirit starts disturbing the father, Josh Lambert. The difference is, after being investigated by Elise, this evil spirit is named The Bride On Black.

Under the influence of the evil spirit, Josh unknowingly performs several acts and ends up taking Elise's life. Specs and Tucker then try to expel the evil spirit with the help of Elise's spirit. 

3. Insidious: Chapter 3

Unlike the previous two films directed by James Wan, INSIDIOUS 3 is directed by its writer, Leigh Whannell, and is a prequel to the previous 2 films.

It tells the story of Elise saving Quinn Brenner from the spirit of the Man Who Can't Breathe who wants her soul, two years before the story of the Josh Lambert family.

4. Insidious: The Last Key

The fourth film of the INSIDIOUS franchise is the second prequel to Elise's past life. Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of the early years of Elise's childhood and her abilities in the paranormal world.

Suddenly, she receives a call from the owner of her childhood home asking for help with the evil spirits inside the house. Elise, with all her trauma and curiosity, finally agrees to return to the house with her two assistants, Specs and Tucker.
