Entering Mid-Year 2022, Jaz Releases Single 'Cause You're My Schatzi'

Kapanlagi.com - Entering 2022, many musicians are becoming more productive. One person who doesn't want to be left behind is Jaz. Yes, in May 2022, Jaz is ready to release his second album entitled Transisi. Along with that, he will also release another single entitled Cause You're My Schatzi.

The song is Jaz's latest collaboration with Ari Lesmana and Andy Armand from Fourtwnty. Jaz's introduction to Ari and Andy began with a friend of Jaz's asking him to listen to one of Ari's songs.

Still carrying the genre he pursues, but also having a little pop touch ala Fourtwnty, Jaz was immediately interested. From there, he was invited to meet Ari and Andy in their studio to sing Cause You're My Schatzi demo live.

“I know Fourtwnty. They are one of the shining bands in the Indonesian music industry. I've been hearing their songs through media, like Youtube. Suddenly, I was invited to their studio to listen to them singing their song live as a demo replacement. It's hard to describe the feeling. Finally, they asked me to try singing the song,” he said recently.

Although initially still trying to figure out how to bring Cause You're My Schatzi in his own way, Jaz managed to find the singing style he wanted to apply to this song.

"Actually, this song was created by Ari and Andy since 2007 and only got the chance to be released in 2022. The recording process itself was also done in 2020. Among all my songs, Cause You're My Schatzi is the song with the longest vocal take, starting from after Maghrib until 3:00 a.m. But, the result was not used and we took it again on a different day. In this song, as the songwriter, Ari also acted as the vocal director and was quite perfectionist. But, that's what I like about him. This gives me a new experience," he continued.

2. Second Album

The intention to step out of the comfort zone is the theme of his second album, Transisi. In Jaz's eyes, the word 'transisi' that he chose as the album title represents many changes, both in his life and in the music industry that continues to evolve, for example with the emergence of various digital music platforms that make it easier for people to enjoy music.

There are a total of eight tracks on Transisi. Four of them have been released. Jaz hopes that his listeners can accept this Transisi album well and feel like they have a new favorite single to enjoy and relate to their lives, just like some of Jaz's hits in Sinergi.
