Kamila Batavia Releases Debut EP Titled 'The Scent of Camellias', Features a German Language Song

Kapanlagi.com - The music scene in the country is becoming more vibrant as we approach mid-2025. There is Kamila Batavia who releases her debut EP titled The Scent of Camellias. The Scent of Camellias refers to the symbolism of the camellia flower that can live and bloom in the harsh winter.

This EP is also an expression of Kamila's personality and life experiences, remaining steadfast and continuing to grow even when everything feels difficult for her. With six touching songs, Kamila invites her listeners to immerse themselves in various emotions.

From sad stories, delving into sorrow and longing, to finding ways to end suffering through resilience. This mini album is produced entirely by Faizal Saputra.

1. There is a Song in German

In this album, there is the song Tutup Mata which serves as the opener. With a rich choir and abundant echoes, this song gives the impression that Kamila is rushing to catch up with her lover who is leaving on a train.

Next is the German song Als Ich Einschlief, which fluently expresses Kamila's hidden desire to unite with her partner. The third song is a build-up of this mini album, Head Over Heels, which is in English and tells about Kamila's phase of falling in love that turns her world upside down and causes insomnia.

2. Dive into the Melancholic Phase

There is also Hilang dan Tak Kembali, the song that serves as the climax. This song overall tells about Kamila's acute mood swings towards her indifferent lover on the other continent regarding her condition. With powerful drum play and the backing vocals' moans, Kamila shows her deep restlessness.

Kamila closes this mini album with the poignant song Berakhir dan Berlalu, which narrates her determination to accept reality. The orchestral melody of this song can immerse listeners in endless sadness. As a bonus track, Kamila presents the song Augen Zu, which is the German version of Tutup Mata.
