Kapanlagi.com - The Covid-19 pandemic has successfully forced Roy Jeconiah to stay at home for several months, but it cannot stop his creativity in producing music. On Monday (6/7), the Surabaya-born rocker released his latest single, "3 Days", in collaboration with @legendamusikindo.
The full name of Roy Jeconiah Isoka Wurangian stated that the song's production process was relatively short. The recording was done at home and the mixing and mastering process was done by a recording company. Without having to meet in person, discussions about the song material were conducted through the public conversation media, WhatsApp.
"I have a team that does workshops for this song, together we determine, for example, the arrangement or find the appropriate tempo. Then the recording process. Everything took about four days," said Roy, on Sunday (5/7).
The song composed by Glenn O Rotty tells the story of someone who falls in love in a city that he only passes through. Although he only spends three days in the city, there are too many love stories that are hard to erase from his memory.
"When I heard this material, I immediately imagined that Mas Roy would sing it perfectly! But due to some reasons, Mas Roy could only be contacted in early June 2020. After having the material, it turns out that Mas Roy likes the song," explained Faisal Nurdin, Director of Support & Business Development @legendamusikindo.
"With limited conditions, we cannot follow the collaboration pattern of recording like normal conditions. But we are grateful, the results we obtained are still optimal," he added.
Furthermore, Roy explained that working on songs with the work from home (WFH) pattern is a form of adaptation to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. Although being confined for quite a long time due to the pandemic, new ideas emerged to treat fans' longing for music works from the leader of JECOVOX.
"During WFH activities, I created several songs that I sent to my friends. When the time is loose, we will meet and gather, with Covid-19 health protocols, of course, in the studio to continue the recording process," explained the former vocalist of Boomerang.
"I have also prepared an online concert, JECO Fest, where we will perform online through Facebook," added Roy.
"3 Days" is the second single released by @legendamusikindo in the past few weeks. "Yang Terakhir", sung as a duet by Ilona and Bimmo, was launched at the end of June 2020. New songs sung by Dirly, Lobow, Alwin, and Ope, will enliven the music industry in the homeland. "'Yang Terakhir' that we released to the market last July received positive responses from the audience. The success of the single is also inseparable from the skillful arrangement by Andi Rianto," said Faisal.
@legendamusikindo released "3 Hari" on July 6, 2020 in various digital stores.
