Kapanlagi.com - KLovers must know, many top Hollywood artists have recently voiced their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. From Halsey, Ariana Grande, Michael B. Jordan, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, to Rapper J.Cole, who brought his family to join the movement. They even took to the streets as demonstrators.
However, this particular musician did something different to support the movement. Who doesn't know Usher Terrence Raymond IV, the owner of the album Confessions with the highest first-week sales in history.
According to RollingStone, on Friday (26/6/2020) at 10.35, after releasing the song SexBeat with Lil Jon and Ludacris, California with Tyga, and his latest solo album Hard II Love in 2016, Usher is back with his latest single I Cry.
The song, created by Usher, is believed to embrace the emotional aspect of the Black Lives Matter movement. Usher shared a note on social media alongside the release of the song, writing a hidden message that he wants to teach his sons that it's okay for a man to feel deep emotions and cry.
He admitted that he was raised to suppress such feelings, and he wants to provide a different way for his children during the quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic and witnessing the deaths of George Floyd and others.
"Like many people, I have become increasingly frustrated with the slow progress of this issue," he said. "I have become very stressed thinking about all the sons who have lost their fathers due to police brutality, social injustice, and violence; the daughters and mothers as well. So I returned to this song and realized it was meant for the current issue, so I finished it and this is the result," he continued.
In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, this R&B musician is donating the proceeds from the song I Cry to the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), which provides assistance and support to community-based organizations and minority-owned small businesses that have been severely affected by COVID-19. Usher will perform the song for the first time live on Saturday, June 27, during the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future concert hosted by Global Citizen.
Unlike other emotional songs, in this song, KLovers will be offered a pop genre with beautiful piano accompaniment by this musician's voice and lyrics. Curious about the song? Watch the video below
