Defense Note Content Vanessa Angel, I'm Guilty - Don't Want to Be Separated from Her Son

Kapanlagi.com - The continuation trial of the drug abuse case involving Vanessa Angel was held at the West Jakarta District Court. Today, Monday (26/10/2020), Vanessa Angel read her defense note in front of the Judges and the Public Prosecutor (JPU). 

From the content of the defense note, Vanessa Angel requests the Judges to consider her punishment. She also reveals that she had no intention of using or consuming the drugs illegally.

"Respected Judge, I feel very sad about my legal case. I never had any malicious intent, I never abused the drugs, I consumed them based on a doctor's prescription because the anxiety disorder I experienced prevented me from sleeping, caused acid reflux, hair loss, constantly sweaty hands, and fluctuating emotions," said Vanessa Angel while reading her defense note. 

1. Feeling Guilty

In her plea, Vanessa Angel also admitted her mistake of using the drug. According to her statement, she bought the drug from a pharmacy in Surabaya, and unfortunately, she didn't bring the prescription with her to Jakarta. 

"Your Honor, I admit that there was a mistake on my part in this case. I bought the drug from a pharmacy in Surabaya without following the proper procedure because the pharmacy didn't ask for the prescription, but it's still there. I feel sad and regretful for that, especially because I have hurt my family's feelings due to the news, particularly my husband and my young baby," said Bibi Ardiansyah's wife. 

2. Not Wanting to Be Separated from Her Child

Towards the end, Vanessa then asked for mercy from the Judges. In her note, Vanessa also hoped that she wouldn't be separated from her 3-month-old son. 

"I am a mother, and my son is only 3 months old who still needs love and breast milk. I will become a better person, I will be a good mother to my child. I will be a good role model for my child, I promise," said Vanessa Angel.
