Evidence from the Reporter and Witness Testimony Fulfills Articles in the ITE Law, Anji's Case Enters a New Phase

Kapanlagi.com - A while ago, Cyber Indonesia reported Anji and Hadi Pranoto to the police regarding controversial YouTube content. As known, Anji uploaded a video interview with a man named Hadi Pranoto discussing herbal findings that are claimed to be able to cure COVID-19 coronavirus infections.

Following the report by Cyber Indonesia, the Metro Jaya Regional Police have conducted an investigation. Based on the available evidence, both from the reporter and the presented witnesses, the police have found that Anji's case fulfills several articles in the ITE Law.

"Until today, the reporter has been examined with the accompanying evidence. Yesterday, we conducted additional clarifications, and there will be more evidence that will be submitted to the investigators. We also brought two witnesses whose statements we requested, and based on the available evidence and witness testimonies, both the reported individuals, after that, we held a case review this morning and it has indeed fulfilled the elements of suspicion under Article 28 in conjunction with Article 45a of the ITE Law," said Kombes Yusri Yunus, Head of Public Relations at the Metro Jaya Regional Police during a virtual press conference regarding Cyber Indonesia's report against Anji and Hadi Pranoto, Thursday (6/8/2020).

1. Entering a New Phase

Due to Article 28 jo Article 45 a of the ITE Law being fulfilled, the case of Anji and Hadi Pranoto has been escalated from investigation to prosecution. After clarification with the complainant and witnesses, the police will examine expert witnesses and also the suspect, namely Anji as the owner of the Duniamanji YouTube account.

"Then this case has been escalated from investigation to prosecution. So it has been elevated to prosecution and we plan to complete the Case File. As I mentioned yesterday, we will examine expert witnesses, both in language and from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). Then we will also summon IT expert witnesses and after that we will schedule the beginning of next week to summon the owner of the Duniamanji YouTube account," said Kombes Yusri Yunus.

"As you know, he is a public figure with the initials A and then we will also summon the suspect HP, this will also be scheduled for next week. Hopefully, all friends understand and can be patient because as we know, this is a public complaint. So this process has been ongoing from investigation to prosecution," he added.

2. Examination Call

Furthermore, the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police confirmed that Anju and Hadi Pranoto will be brought in next week to undergo the examination process. Both will be present temporarily as witnesses.

"So we will call the parties concerned as witnesses for now, both the owner of the Duniamanji account and HP, to undergo examination," said Kombes Yusri Yunus.

"We schedule it for next week. The summons letter may be sent tomorrow. What's certain is that they will be present here next week," he added.
