Fachri Albar Sentenced to Rehabilitation and Predicted to Be Released Next Month

The latest update comes from the final chapter of the narcotics case involving actor Fachri Albar. The former husband of Renata Kusmanto is confirmed to have escaped the threat of imprisonment after the panel of judges at the West Jakarta District Court sentenced him to six months of rehabilitation on Wednesday (3/9/2025).

This decision was met with gratitude by Fachri's legal team. Fitria, as the lawyer, stated that the verdict was the result they had hoped for in order to aid their client's recovery.

"Yes, we thank God that up to this moment we have passed through several phases, especially our client Fachri Albar, until the verdict today," said Fitria after the hearing.

According to the legal team, from the beginning their main goal was for the son of legendary musician Ahmad Albar to fully recover from addiction, not just to serve a sentence. "It is indeed in line with all our wishes for Mr. Fahcri to get better," they stated.

Interestingly, this six-month sentence will be reduced by the time served that Fachri has already spent since being arrested in April 2025. With this calculation, Fitria predicts that her client could breathe free air very soon.

"So the application of his sentence since he was detained at the West Jakarta Metro Police until the rehabilitation center. It is possible that next month or in October he will be free," she explained.

This light sentence is not without several crucial considerations from the panel of judges. Although his status as a public figure is a burden, there are other factors that serve as a "savior" for the 44-year-old actor.

Cooperative attitude, acknowledgment of mistakes, and his role as the backbone of the family are significant considerations that greatly mitigate his sentence.

"What weighs heavily is that he is a public figure. But what mitigates is that he acknowledges his mistakes and is also the backbone of the family," said Fitria.

This verdict feels very light considering that at the time of his arrest, the police found a large amount of evidence ranging from meth, marijuana, cocaine, to dozens of psychotropic pills. Fachri was initially charged under multiple articles with a maximum prison sentence of up to 12 years.
